Chief Creative Officer

Matthew offers 13 years of experience in brand strategy, copywriting, integrated design and cross-media advertising, helping emerging and leading brands craft brand strategies that create long-term business value.

Prior to founding MSDS in 1999, Matthew began his career in 1994 as a Designer with Cline, Davis and Mann developing advertising for Pfizer, and then with McCann-Erickson’s Compelling Content developing integrated advertising for PBS, Chemical Bank and Royal Caribbean Cruiselines. Matthew served as Art Director with Young & Rubicam’s Brand Dialogue developing online advertising and websites for Eli Lilly, Wyeth, AT&T, 7Up, Dr. Pepper, and Novell, and as Creative Director with Online Retail Partners designing eCommerce websites for Dick’s Sporting Goods, Ulta Cosmetics and Zany Brainy.

Matthew is a long-standing member of the AIGA whose work has been awarded and profiled by The Webbys, Communication Arts, Horizon Interactive, Graphic Design USA, Rockport Publishers and others. He holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College with a dual concentration in Visual Art and Creative Writing.

Jim provides 16 years of diverse, cross-discipline experience in interactive media, working across operations, production and account management, and product and business development for digital media.

Jim began his interactive career in 1993 producing interactive television content for AT&T’s Downtown Digital. As co-founder of both Bottle Rocket (1997) and BrandPlay (2001), two of the first online play-based entertainment marketing agencies, Jim produced well over 100 online marketing properties for such media and consumer brands as The New York Times, HBO, MTV, USA Networks, the NFL, NHL, MLB. General Motors and Pfizer, helping them acquire new customers, generate revenue, launch new brands online and deepen consumer relationships.

He holds a B.A. in Media Writing from The University of Michigan and attended the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
